Justice For Shanesha |
This will be a space to keep up with developments in the Shanesha Taylor case. Shanesha is a homeless mother who left her young children in her car while she interviewed for a job. She was arrested, jailed, & now faces two felony child abuse charges. We want the charges against her dropped. She and her children need support not punishment. |
It’s so heartening that people continue to support Shanesha and her family! Nearly to $91,000 has been raised so far to help with legal and other expenses.
Shanesha has already begun to receive some of the funds and has put them to good use in securing a stable place to live.
Excitingly now that Shanesha has had a few days to recover from the ordeal of her incarceration, she is ready to fight her case and to petition for the return of her children. Your generosity has enabled this and she is currently selecting legal representation to assist her in these goals.
In addition, over 10,600 people have signed the petition asking County Attorney Bill Montgomery to drop the charges against Shanesha so that she can rebuild her life with her family. Stay tuned for information this week about delivering these signatures to Mr. Montgomery. If you are in the Phoenix area, we would welcome your presence.
